February 1, 2002 NEWS RELEASE Stanley for U.S. Senate
=========================================================== My Brother Thinks the Government Will Kill Me (DENVER CO) Rick Stanley, Libertarian candidate for the U.S. Senate offers the following editorial for your use. I took my brother to the airport this week. We had been discussing my outspoken positions regarding an unconstitutional and therefore illegal government in America. While he agreed with all of my positions, he felt I should tone it down. I told him I represented a large group of Americans who feel the same way I do. As their representative, a defender of liberty, I would be bound by my honor to fulfill our forefathers' vision of a constitutional government constrained by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution/Bill of Rights. I could not allow the birthright of my children and grandchildren to be destroyed by the apathy of America, the needs of a corrupt government, or the evil partnership of international bankers, the Federal Reserve, huge corporate interests across the globe and the U.S. Government, represented by the legislative, executive and judicial branches of greed and dishonesty. Tone it down? That's how the government passed all the unconstitutional laws. We let them. No thanks. "Well," he said, "That's all fine and good, but why don't you just kick back and enjoy your life? You have paid your dues. You go after them and they will have you killed! You understand?" I said, "Mike, listen to what you just said. This is what hundreds of people have been telling me for the last 9 months of my senate campaign. You all have a total distrust for the U.S. government, all its agencies, and the police who are supposed to defend America and the Constitution. This distrust of government permeates throughout our society. Could all of America be this wrong about the government? Have they proven to be worthy of our trust? Think back. Trust your judgement here. Now, remember what you just said: 'They will have you killed.'" This is my country. I won't
leave it. I am staying, so I must defend my
country. What do we do with this unconstitutional
government? I just keep thinking ... they will have
you killed. ##30## =========================================================== For information about
