Daschle Backs 9-11 Probe

(DENVER CO) Rick Stanley, U.S. Senate candidate for the Libertarian Party, was stunned by Tom Daschle's statement: "The American people have a right to know, just as they knew what happened with Pearl Harbor." Daschle also said on Wednesday that "hearings on what went wrong September 11th are necessary, although he shares White House concern about diverting intelligence officials from the war on terrorism."

Stanley said, "I am absolutely ecstatic that Daschle wants the American people to know the truth concerning the failure of this unconstitutional government to protect the American people from terrorism. All of the brave Americans who died as a result of this tragic failure of the government to seriously consider several aviation school instructors' concerns about Muslim/Islamic/Arabic- appearing young men who only wanted to fly large airplanes, not take off or land, deserve to have the truth exposed to preserve their heroic memories. This brings many questions to the forefront. Why did the FBI agents who knew of these concerns do nothing? Why have both Democratic and Republican administrations allowed our nation's citizens, sons and daughters in uniform, military installations, military ships and the World Trade Center (twice), to be attacked over and over since 1983 for a total of 18 years? Why did they wait until 2001 and thousands of deaths to start hounding terrorists worldwide to prevent them from attacking American interests? Why did it take a monumental event like 9-11 to motivate our government to react to an enemy that has been hunting Americans for 18 years?

"Why were they spending 40 billion dollars on a failed drug war and cutting funds from intelligence agencies charged with defending America from outside agression, whether from terrorism or another government? Why hasn't our government allowed people to hear all the information released by the Boston Globe recently, regarding the Dutch on Java tracking the Japanese fleet from Japan to Hawaii in 1941, and their notification to the U.S. Government at that time? Why have the media been muzzled regarding this 60-year-old story that has recently been discovered in Dutch records?

"Will the American public have to wait 60 years for the truth about 9-11 and the failure of the government to protect us as they are charged with by the Constitution? When will this government stop making laws that are unconstitutional and start performing their lawful duty to the American people as outlined by the constraints of the Constitution?

"When will the American public wake up and see how an unconstitutional and therefore illegal government is causing most of the ills confronting our American society today?

"When, America?"
