September 18, 2001 NEWS RELEASE Stanley for U.S. Senate
=========================================================== Stanley tells America, “Wake up, Dammit!” (DENVER CO) On September 18 Rick
Stanley, Libertarian candidate for the U.S. Senate from
Colorado, released the following statement:
"America must
prepare for the darkest of times. We will be under attack
from outside aggression, as well as the tyranny of an
oppressive government bent on brainwashing the people
about the sins of our past foreign policy.
"The Libertarians
have been sounding the warning bell of Liberty regarding
the failed foreign policy of interfering in the affairs
of other countries for more than 30 years. Most of these
Libertarians are intellectuals with a desire to be left
alone, secure in their freedom. Being the introverts that
most of them are, the warning bell was not as loud as it
should have been. From this day forward I hope to invoke
the patriotism in the ranks of Libertarians everywhere
— to shout out the injustices when they occur and to
prevent the mistakes of the past from becoming the
ongoing mistakes of an insecure future. I invite America
to join us. "The government of
the United States must destroy all foreign aggression in
the form of terrorism immediately, without killing women
and children. It must be done swiftly and without giving
quarter to the enemies of America. They must be
destroyed, and their evil in the name of religion must be
crushed and stamped out.
"The United States
of America knows full well the twin evils of
state-sponsored religion, and governments that bow down
to the will of any religion. The history of the world is
tainted by the stain of blood spilled in the name of all
religions. That is why the American Constitution
prohibits either case from happening.
"Unfortunately, the
foreign policies of 100 years of America’s
state-sponsored terrorism against other countries,
promoted by an unconstitutional government bent on
creating a New World Order which they would sit at the
head of, has soiled the spirit from which our country
derives its strength. That spirit is called Liberty.
"Do not allow our
country to be destroyed by this government in the days to
come. 66% of Americans say our civil liberties and rights
should be curtailed to fight the terrorist threat from
this religious zealotry called Islam. If America falls
for this garbage, then we are sheep and deserve to be led
to the slaughter we will surely see in the future. The
patriots of America fought long and hard to preserve the
Declaration of Independence from 1776, which allowed our
country to be born in freedom. This freedom was to be
preserved by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
"If we give away any
of those freedoms to fight these terrorists we will
surely fail, victims of our desire to be safe. Are
Americans so complacent and comfortable that we would
allow the heritage of our forefathers to continue to
erode into oblivion? Wake up, Dammit!
"The tyranny from
within is just as great as the danger of foreign
aggression. America’s shores have been compromised
because the American people have allowed it. We must
protect America from outside threats; and we must also
protect America from the tyranny of our own government.
"I am calling for
all Americans to recognize the signals screaming at you
from your fellow Americans, and from the outside world.
These terrorist acts are just the tip of the iceberg. We
face a committed and imposing enemy the likes of whom we
have never seen before. From within as well as from
outside.
"The Libertarian
Party and I have called for open borders. Open borders
only work when you don’t have enemies. We face a
very inspired and committed enemy. We have the right to
close our borders to new immigration for a National
Emergency. That condition exists right now. I call for
the immediate closure of our borders to new immigration
with a one year expiration. If we have eradicated our
enemies by then, we can open our borders up again. Our
country must remain secure during this crisis!
"I’m calling on
our current terrorist U.S. government to cease and desist
all its meddling in the affairs of other countries with
one exception: the eradication of any and all terrorist
threats and the defeat of the countries that are aiding,
abetting, and harboring those groups. Once this has been
accomplished America can begin to mend its own terrorist
ways, beg the world’s forgiveness, and then pursue a
policy of world harmony. Then, perhaps, we can really
prove that a free society is a good example for the world
to follow. Our own arrogant self-assurance that 'God is
on our side' is no better than Islam saying God is on
their side. For the second time: Wake up, Dammit!
"We must learn from
the past and admit our mistakes. Yes, we will go forward
and protect ourselves and destroy this enemy. But before
we do this, America, we must prepare ourselves for a long
and terrible war. Do not underestimate our enemy. A
religious, fanatical and zealous enemy has declared a
holy war on America. They are the most terrible foe we
will ever face. Prepare for huge casualties and the most
terrible war in human history. Pray that this war is not
the oblivion that was foretold in the Book of Revelation.

"Wake
up, dammit – and understand what we have done, and
what we face. During this holy war we face, it is time
for all Americans to join the Second American Revolution
to eradicate the government that has stolen our country.
Over the next 3 voting cycles of 2002, 2004, and 2006 we
must throw out the Democrats and Republicans who are
responsible for this crisis. We must do this with
ballots, not bullets. Libertarian citizen legislators in
Washington, DC, are the answer to our internal crisis.
Professional politicians dominated by an aristocratic
lawyer class have never been the answer to the problems
of America. Not in the 100 years of the past, and
certainly not in the uncertain future we face as we
struggle to preserve the legacy of the patriots who have
shed their blood to preserve this country for 225
years."
