============================================================ Stanley Secures Libertarian Nomination To the Media: In addition, Stanley will be on a Portland, Oregon radio show at 5:00 pm Denver time. The station is KKGT 1150 AM, and the show is hosted by Jim Greenfield, a Republican candidate for the U.S. House who doesn't believe that Denver Judge Patterson would not allow a Colorado and U.S. citizen to use the U.S. and Colorado constitutions as a defense in a court of law. Both shows promise to be fiery, fast-paced, and very interesting. The Boyles show is a Socialist left wing show and the Greenfield show is reportedly a Fascist right wing show. Let the good times roll. I love you people. Let's talk. Sincerely, ============================================================ It's official! Rick Stanley (http://www.stanley2002.org) is now the Libertarian Party's nominee for U.S. Senate from the state of Colorado. Rick secured the
nomination on the second ballot on Saturday, May 18,
after a bruising floor fight. Over 150 people attended
our convention this year. Charlie Brennan (a reporter
from the Rocky Mountain News) covered the convention in
Leadville all day long on Saturday -- he even covered our
banquet, and Bill Masters' after-dinner speech. After the
banquet I asked Charlie what he thought of our
convention. "You people are not the kooks everybody
thinks you are," he said. "After witnessing
this convention, I'm even more interested in the
Libertarian On Friday, May 17, the day after Rick was convicted on the charge of "unlawfully carrying a deadly weapon" in Denver county court, his web site recorded nearly 14,000 separate sessions, and almost 20,000 page views. In just one day! Rick's campaign has garnered over 120 mentions in the media. He's getting daily requests to be on the radio. He was on a drive-time show here in Denver this morning, and he's also recording a "web cast" today. His web site scores 6 times higher than Wayne Allard's and 8 times higher than Tom Strickland's on the important "internet visibility index." You can review Rick's
press clipping file at Here's what a major political web site, Evote.com, said about Rick in a recent column on-line: Top News - EVote.com (EVOTE.COM) - Libertarian Senate candidate Rick Stanley is standing by earlier comments he made denouncing incumbent Republican Wayne Allard (R) as a "traitor" for voting for unconstitutional laws. "Wayne Allard's campaign manager and the executive director of the Colorado Republican Party, didn't deny my claim that Allard is a traitor to the country. Nor did they defend his position regarding my claim that he has voted for unconstitutional legislation. Why is that? They can't, or they would be exposed by me, very quickly," declared Stanley in a statement this week. The candidate is no stranger to controversy. Earlier in the campaign, he was arrested protesting a local gun control law, and has also made news for challenging Governor Jesse Ventura to a boxing match. Stanley is also organizing a "Million Gun March" and a national campaign to repeal all laws deemed unconstitutional. "Since the truth
was not something these men wanted to deal with, we got
lame rhetoric that my charges have no place in legitimate
political dialogue in this _______ Rick is already showing up with a solid 4% share of the vote in the polls conducted by his opponents. See our web page, http://www.stanley2002.org/pollsum5_02.htm for more information about the polls. How do the results of Rick's pre-convention campaign stack up against the results that Carla Howell, Michael Cloud, and Ed Thompson are producing? Even though both Howell and Cloud have outspent the Stanley campaign by a wide margin, Rick is garnering more press and scoring substantially higher in the polls than either of them. Thompson has an edge in Wisconsin because of his famous brother, but Stanley's poll numbers (4%) do compare favorably with the one result (10%) we've been able to locate for Ed Thompson. See our web page at http://www.stanley2002.org/lpracecomp5_02.htm for a more detailed comparison of the results these 4 candidates have achieved thus far. Stanley's campaign has
done all this with just $9,400. The results Rick has
achieved with this small expenditure are absolutely
astounding. With a little more cash, Rick has a real
chance of achieving the unthinkable -- there is a
substantial probability that Rick Stanley will actually
be elected to the office of U.S. Senator in Please look at our web site. Call Rick on the phone (303-329-0481). Call me at home (303-744-6577). Ask for other people's opinions. Rick is committed to running the very best campaign he possibly can. He has been running -- hard -- for nearly 11 months already. With your help and support he can actually win this election and set the old guard political establishment on its ear.
