RELEASE May 8, 2002 NEWS RELEASE Stanley for U.S. Senate
============================================================ Rocky Rag Strikes Out in Editorial Bashing Stanley Rick Stanley, U.S. Senate candidate, activist/organizer of the national Bill of Rights rallies, activist/organizer of the Million Gun March Petition, and activist/organizer of the Patriot Files, made the following announcement to the media: Sigh. Just when I think that the Rocky Mountain News is irrelevant, they start covering the U.S. Senate race in Colorado. This liberal bastion of journalistic mindlessness has finally stepped up to the plate, and then strikes out. After ignoring my campaign for 12 months, they decide to start bashing me when the citizens of Colorado find out about me through other means. First it was irresponsible journalism by omission. Now we have irresponsible journalism by witch hunt. "If we can't ignore him, let's discredit him," would be the Rocky's motto on the front of the building, if they were honest. Honesty is not something newspapers are used to dealing with. That is why Jesse Ventura calls newspapers, like the Rocky Rag, "media jackals." Beside distortion and omission, outright lies steering the reader away from the real issues are a Rocky Rag specialty. Let's examine the Rocky editorial called Politics Beyond The Pale. These folks call me a wild eccentric who turns off people with a capital L Libertarian way of thinking. These folks say that anyone who spouts nonsense of this order is flatly unqualified to serve in the Senate or in any other public office. Let's see, what else? His ugly speech, his hostility, and his arrogance, ineffective in a deliberative body, incapable of paying attention to the very Constitution he professes to revere. Now that I have your attention, go to www.stanley2002.org and decide for yourself if I am a wild eccentric, or any of the other things they printed. Is it wildly eccentric to say that almost everything that is wrong with this country can be traced back to the treasonous legislators selling out the American people, with unconstitutional laws passed every day? The Constitution was drawn up by a very wise group of men, who wanted to protect the American people from their own government. They knew that government is not benevolent, but is raw power derived from the American people. Used improperly, this power can and will be turned against the people. Do Americans feel that the government is abusive towards America with its power? A majority of the people I speak with do, indeed, feel this way. The people I represent usually say so, with emphasis. By insulting Rick Stanley, the Rocky Rag insults my supporters, who feel they have a right to be angry with a government that operates outside of the boundaries of the Constitution. This is the supreme law of the land, intended for our lawbreakers, oops, I meant lawmakers. Sorry, that's for the politically correct people. Democrats seem to represent the socialist crowd on the left. Republicans seem to represent the right side of the spectrum. The wealthy, the elite, the controlling crowd. The Republicans seem to revere the power and control of fascism. You take that mix of socialism and fascism that these two parties have given to America, and it equals democracy. Democracy is ugly. Democracy mixes the volatility of socialism and fascism to create a sort of mob rule at the point of a gun. Your gun, America. They are trying to take away your gun, to make you safe, and them powerful. They want to take away all of your constitutional rights, to make you safe? Those rights are this country. Those rights help to guarantee that this country is a Republic, as our forefathers intended. The Rocky decided to
lecture me about the Constitution. Thank you. The Rocky
says that the Constitution says that treason "shall
consist only in levying war against (the United
States)." Let's take the "Allard is treasonous
and should be hanged" quote, and analyze it with the
Rocky argument. The Constitution says in the 10th
Amendment, "the powers not delegated to the United
States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the
states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to
the people." That means the federal government can't
do ANYTHING unless it says so in the Constitution. The
Supreme Court can't change The federal government made laws that were unconstitutional, against drugs, in the 20's and 30's. They had no authority. From that, we have been given the "War on Drugs" by the government, which is a war on the American people's rights. Wayne Allard supports this assault on America. If drugs were legal, the price would not be so high, and attractive for criminals to make obscene amounts of money, which prompts them to push drugs on the children of America. Government has caused the drug problem in this country. Why? Treason for levying war against the American people? I would say so, and did. Assaulting America's rights? Yes, he did that as well. Allard voted for the
USA Patriot Act that violates eight of the ten articles
of the Bill of Rights. Treason. An assault on America. A
war on our rights. A terrorist from within. This man is
just like 99% of the others, Ron Paul of Texas excluded.
If So the Rocky thinks I am unfit for the U.S. Senate? With the Rocky's endorsement record, I will take that as a compliment. With the Rocky's commitment to socialism and liberalism, I feel relieved that you disagree with my Constitutional views. I am proud to represent the Constitution in my campaign. I am proud to expose cowards like Wayne Allard for the traitor he is. ##30## Rick Stanley is currently seeking the Libertarian Party of Colorado's nomination in May as their U.S. Senate candidate in this year's election.
