=========================================================== Stanley to Speak in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, February 28th (DENVER CO) Rick Stanley, U.S. Senate Candidate for the Libertarian Party, made the following announcement to the media: DENVER - 5:00PM) Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate, Rick Stanley is in Washington D.C. through the end of the week to participate in the Truth-in-Taxation hearing, sponsored by the We the People Organization. Mr. Stanley will also be a featured speaker during a banquet for attendees on Thursday night. The purpose of the Truth-in-Taxation hearing is to provide a forum for the public to petition the U.S. Government for redress of grievances in relation to the Federal Income Tax system. The focus will be on the legal jurisdiction of the IRS and the improper and unlawful enforcement of Federal Tax Laws against American Citizens. Organizers say they will be presenting irrefutable evidence that will prove our current system of federal income taxation is unconstitutional and therefore, illegal. Although originally agreeing to participate in and help organize the hearing, officials of the U.S. Government have now reneged on their written promises, and have stated they will not attend the hearing. Nonetheless, organizers say the hearing will proceed as scheduled with the government tried in absentia if necessary. The Truth-in-Taxation hearing will be on February 27 and 28 at the Washington Marriott, located at 1221 22nd Street, telephone 202.972.1500.
