FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 1, 2002 NEWS RELEASE Stanley for U.S. Senate
=========================================================== Term Limit Integrity (DENVER CO) Rick Stanley, Libertarian Candidate for the U.S. Senate, made the following statement regarding politicians and their pledges of term limitations: "Tom Tancredo made a campaign pledge to bow out after three terms. He now says that he no longer believes in term limits and may not honor his campaign pledge. Former U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong, a staunch supporter of terms limits, says that Congressman Tancredo is a person of integrity. Dennis Polhill, co-author of a Colorado congressional term limit initiative that was later thrown out by the U.S. Supreme Court said he was "shocked" by Tancredo's change of heart, but believes Tancredo will ultimately keep his word. "What is it Tom Tancredo? Are you a professional politician or a man of your word? Are you a man with integrity or are you a professional politician? "Is this what they call a defining moment in one's life? Will you be remembered as a man with honor like Republican Rep. Bob Schaffer or a professional politician like Republician Scott McInnis who decided to turn his back on his campaign pledge to serve only four terms and walked away from personal integrity? "If the citizens of Colorado will
not demand that campaign promises are kept, is that a
good enough reason to abandon your integrity?" ##30## =========================================================== For information about
