Aug 28, 2002 NEWS RELEASE Stanley for U.S. Senate
======================================================== Media Release - August 28, 2002 Stanley Retains Campaign Candidacy and Rocky Mountain News Article (8/27/02) "An article from yesterday regarding last night's witch hunt to decertify the Stanley Campaign, is attached. I am happy to announce truth won the day, and the Stanley Campaign won, and the Campaign continues. Hopefully the small group of twenty Libertarians, who tried to end the Stanley Campaign in May at the Convention, and tried again with this action with the State Board last night, will end this nonsense right now, and start supporting All Libertarian Campaigns, including the Stanley Campaign in the future." Stanley extended an olive branch last night to this group, and offered to meet with them, to resolve past and future disagreements, by having them get involved with the campaign. Stanley was told they would consider this idea, and that is where it lies. However, Ari Armstrong attacked Rick Stanley again, in an e-mail that was sent out this morning. "I had promised Ari that I would tell the Stanley Scoop, that he denies the charge made by persons who said they saw him distributing Republican literature on the Western Slope, this past weekend with Lynn Armstrong, a staunch Republican. He said he was distributing literature for Ralph Shnelvar, as the Libertarian Candidate for Governor. With my promise fulfilled, I will refrain from commenting on Ari Armstrong in the future, you all can make up your own minds about Ari Armstrong's agenda, based upon his actions of the past, and in the future." "I am suggesting, that we all get to work and put out the Libertarian agenda for correcting the unconstitutional ills, perpetuated by this government on America. I suggested this after the convention in May, and I still am. Focusing or nitpicking on e-mails, to upset the Stanley Campaign is self defeating for the Party. We must focus on outreach to bring in new members, and register new Libertarians so that the public can see that we are progressing. I talked with about a dozen people this morning and last night, who are going to change their affiliation to Libertarian in the coming weeks, and are very impressed with my campaign of honesty and truth, promoting Libertarian values." "We need to go on an all out campaign to "Register Colorado", for the Libertarian Party, and for change in this government, to do one thing: Become constitutional in all ways. America's problems will end, and America will once again be the land of the free, and the home of the brave. All rights of the Bill of Rights, must be restored. All unconstitutional legislation, statutes, and ordinances must be repealed and ended immediately. Liberty in our Lifetime is our goal. America must be a free state once again grounded in the REPUBLIC for which it stands, not the democracy they have foisted upon an unsuspecting America, which is leading us down the garden path of socialist fascism, and the total police state, which the government has in mind for this country." "I want to thank the Libertarian Party for standing behind the Stanley Campaign of freedom and liberty for America."
