Candidate
Interviewed
on KNZZ Radio
Following is
Rick Stanley's interview which aired on
the morning of August 29, 2001
When interviewed on the morning of August 29, 2001 by KNZZ radio, Libertarian U.S. Senate Candidate Rick Stanley spoke of his protest of the Rocky Mountain News, for printing lies. Stanley informed the listeners that "The 'Rocky Rag' has lied about Strickland being the only announced candidate for U.S. Senate in a recent article regarding the 2001 Senate Race." The Rocky Mountain News also lied, Stanley said, when they wrote that "Strickland was the only candidate to file his paperwork with the Secretary of the U.S. Senate". Mr. Stanley pointed out to the audience the fact that he filed paperwork with the Secretary of the U.S. Senate, as required, a week before Mr. Strickland did. "Both of these issues were reported on and published for 11 days straight beginning with the 1st of August through the 11th," said Stanley. He went on to explain that, "most of these stories were front page headline news articles for the Rocky Mountain News with full-color pictures as well." Rick reminded the listeners that, "The 'Rocky Rag' has a long history of providing its readers with tremendously biased political coverage of political campaigns which is so preposterous that it's just ridiculous to try and digest their lies." Rick also informed the public of his demands on the Rocky Mountain News to print a front page headline story announcing the Stanley for Senate Campaign, just like the one published for Mr. Strickland. Stanley believes Coloradans have the right to know of all their political choices in the elections to come, not just the ones the editors at the Rocky Mountain News decide to tell them about. |
