The Environment
by Rick Stanley

I recognize the need to protect the environment, but believe that the federal government's role in doing such needs to be eliminated, except the role of the judicial branch -- which needs to punish corporate and individual polluters with extreme prejudice.

The board members of companies should be held responsible and accountable, personally and financially, when their companies violate the environment. Put these people in jail and strip them of monies they earned while in violation of the environment. These funds shall be used to repair the damage done to the environment, not tax dollars.

Bankruptcy laws should not apply in environmental damage cases. Bankruptcy laws should not be used as a way out of polluters' responsibility to our country's environment.

All government agencies at the federal level should be eliminated, like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and violation of laws should be dealt with through the judicial branch of the government, immediately. We don't need bloated federal bureaucracy.
