Under
the heading of "Tax Tips," Jeff Quinn made the following comments
about Irwin Schiff on September 23, 2005, in the North Lake Tahoe
Bonanza:
"Schiff claims, among other things, that the Federal income tax
really doesn't apply to individuals (like we and thee).
"We even hear Irwin, in furtherance of his personal crusade, may
not even have paid one red cent since 1974.
"We further hear from published sources that Irwin's fledglings
have likewise proclaimed their exoneration from Federal taxes to
the tune of some $56 million.
"And you wonder why your tax obligation is so high? Doesn't
somebody have to make up the difference created by these
scofflaws?"
Let's clear up a few things. Irwin Schiff is known for quoting
the majority decisions of the Supreme Court. Among the most
notable decisions are that the sixteenth amendment added no new
taxing authority to the federal government and that income is defined
as a corporate profit. Now Mr. Quinn may ridicule these decisions
as much as he likes, but his laughter doesn't alter the law one
jot, nor does it invalidate what Irwin Schiff has said.
Secondly, although Irwin Schiff may not have voluntarily paid one red
cent since 1974 (it's a rumor that is almost certainly true), I
do know that Irwin Schiff has had substantial personal property
confiscated illegally by the IRS.
Third, the reason your taxes are as high as they are is because
Americans have allowed themselves to be fooled into thinking they have
a legal income tax liability, and they have allowed the federal
government to ignore the constraints of the Constitution--a
deadly combination that has produced a national debt close to $8
trillion and unfunded liabilities near $50 trillion.
Lastly, the scofflaws these days are not the many, many members
of the Tax Honesty Movement (like Larken Rose, Joe Banister,
Irwin Schiff, Ken Evans, Vernie Kuglin, Richard Simkanin, Bob
Schulz, John Turner, Sherry Peel Jackson, Larry Beacraft, Dave
Champion, and thousands upon thousands of others). On the
contrary, these men and women are upholding the law, and the
scofflaws are the corrupt judges and prosecutors whose trial
transcripts expose them as the criminals they are. Fortunately, we
have excellent records of their criminal behavior, so this is no
longer just conjecture or baseless accusation. No, now it's
reference material for all the world to see.
